Last Chance to Grab Football Tickets
92 and a butt days until our reunion! We know everyone was expecting the registration site to be up and running by now. The water rose and the details got sticky, so we are a little behind where we expected. That said, we expect the registration site to be up next week. An email from AOG and from Tony will let you know when it is activated.Unfortunately, the window for buying AOG-sourced class swag was kept open for only a brief period, which is now closed. Fortunately, Rob Grubbs is coordinating some independently-sourced items that will be available to order soon, again, for pickup only at the reunion. Keep your eye out for an email from Tony with directions on how to order. We’ve been urging you to get your football tickets. Now’s your last chance to do so before Army Athletics makes tickets in our block available to the public on this Friday, July 28. If you plan to attend the game and want to sit with the class, stop procrastinating and buy your tickets now.We visited the Westchester Marriott last week and we were impressed. It is undergoing a $35 million renovation that includes rooms completely redone, updated elevators, new common areas, and upgrades to reception and business lounges. The gym is already complete, and is the best I have ever seen in a hotel. We were also very impressed with how responsive the staff is. While there are only two restaurants in the hotel itself, there are many in the surrounding area. The welcome reception Thursday evening will feature no-host bars and a number of buffet stations so you will not need to find a place for dinner. On Friday evening, after a day at West Point, we will be enjoying a deluxe buffet dinner, no-host bars, and dancing. There will be some wine on the tables to get your evening started. (You’ll be able to buy more bottles at the no-host bar if you like.) Across the way from the ballroom entrance is a beautiful courtyard with seating for our use if you want to get away from the music to talk and relax. In response to requests for unstructured time for personal gatherings, Saturday evening will not include an organized class event. This provides the opportunity for cadet companies, teams, or just groups of friends to take the opportunity to have their own dinner at a place of their choosing. Information will be made available to help you find local venues. The committee thanks you for your support and we look forward to seeing everyone in October.
