At the period of adolescence, when character is plastic and impulse wayward, before the stereotype has set, control and constraint are the essential forces for impressing permanent form upon young manhood. If the material can be removed from contaminating impurities, fused in the furnace of hard work, and kept in its mold until it has set, the best has been done that education can do for character, provided the mold is a noble one. Richard Morrow Obituary

Captain Richard (Rick) Edward Morrow, US Army retired, 48, of Huntersville, died Thursday, February 20, 2003 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1954 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Daniel Edward (Buddy) Morrow and Joann Brown Morrow. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, and a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School, and West Point Military Academy, Class of 1978. Upon receiving his Commission he served at Fort Eustis, VA, completed Helicopter School at Fort Rucker, AL, and was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC as a Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot, with the 82nd Airborne Division.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Debbie Morrow Draughn and husband Rick of Mocksville, NC; step-nephew Jacob Draughn of Mocksville, NC.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, February 23, in the Chapel at Raymer Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Wayland Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 - 8:30 PM, Saturday, February 22 at Raymer Funeral Home.
