SAVE THE DATE: Civilian Military Operations Center - 2020 Student Workshop

Dear Classmates,
The Corps has returned to the academy grounds and the Class of 2022 continue to acclimate to their new world. The academy continues to evolve in its effort to remain relevant and produce men and women of character, worthy of leading our nation.  It is Fall so we all know what that means, the march to the Army vs. Navy game has begun, December 14, 2109.  Army football is alive and well. Coach Monken and the program is receiving significant positive national coverage.  There is a spring in everyone’s step at West Point and rightfully so.
We recently met with the leaders of the Civilian Military Operations Center, LTG (Ret) Ken Hunzeker, LTC Jason Ridgeway and CPT Matt Salyer, to discuss the program and the 2020 Student Workshop.  The keynote speaker is still in flux but the topic for this upcoming year’s workshop has been decided:  "Tsunami In The Pacific”.  The workshop will focus on issues and challenges found in this specific area of operations.
Our class had very strong representation at last year’s workshop. We were asked to lead and facilitate discussions at individual roundtables after each presentation.  The discussions and exchanges were lively and a highlight for the event.  I believe everyone that participated will attest the the richness of the experience and the unique opportunity it provided to interact and share our individual perspectives / journeys with the cadets.
